Garage Sale Organizer Wanted! Attention All Local Non-profit Groups!!  We are looking for an organization to take over the Citywide Garage Sale.  Please contact the Chamber Office at 913-583-1585 if your group is willing to organize the sales for this year and beyond.

The October 8-9, 2010 Cookin' on the Kaw BBQ Contest is now accepting registrations! We are accepting 49 teams this year. De Soto Chamber "Ladies Night Out" Networking and Fundraiser

Location: Jill Davis, 8467 Valley Spring Drive, De Soto

Time: 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Join your fellow chamber members for a fun networking and fundraising opportunity while enjoying a night out with the ladies!  Jill Davis with Mary Kay Cosmetics will be hosting a stop and shop and providing complimentary makeovers.  Learn the newest trends of the cosmetic season! Bring a friend or co-worker and stop by. Proceeds from the event will benefit the De Soto Chamber of Commerce. RSVP to mbefort@desotoks.org.

De Soto Chamber of Commerce Luncheon

Location: FCB Bank

Time: 11:30 a.m.

Cost: $12/members, $15/non-members.  Prepaid reservations are $10/members.

Underwriter: FCB Bank and Kansas Speedway

Reservations are required to ensure adequate food and seating. No cancellations can be accepted after Noon on Wednesday. RSVP to mbefort@desotoks.org.

BBQ Contestant Setup (By appointment only)

Location: De Soto Riverfest Park

Time: 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Are you a BBQ contestant and want to set up your site early? Contact the Chamber Office at 913-583-1585 to schedule a time to set up your site between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.  Note: gates will be locked, so access to the park will be by appointment only during this time. Appointments must be scheduled in advance of 10/7/10.

De Soto Chamber Blues & BBQ Festival/Cookin' on the Kaw

Location: De Soto Riverfest Park

Time: 6:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Cost: Advance tickets are $10 and includes FREE parking; at the gate is $10 plus $5 for parking

BBQ has come to De Soto! Join our 49 BBQ teams as they prepare for the contest on Saturday.  Enjoy food vendors, beer garden, be a judge in the People's Choice BBQ Contest for only $5, listen to some of the area's best blues performers and visit with the competition teams. Your advance ticket gets you FREE parking and music. Food vendors, People's Choice Contest and beverages are in addition to the ticket price. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the fun!
